We were extremely disappointed with the work ethic and lack of professionalism of Stewart Construction. The contracted job of building an 8’X12’ (inside unfinished) porch took about 4 months to complete with a cost of $14K. Workers did not show up to work on porch until Noon time or later in the day. Shortly after they started work they had to take a break, (I assume for lunch). Some days the workers would not show up at all. The first group of workers assigned to the project failed to meet town building codes, so the project had to be started all over again with another group of workers from Stewart Construction. This group also worked hard on the project when they showed up to work (again later in the day after 12pm). Richard Stewart (owner) never showed up to the site when he said he would be there to check it out. After the 2nd day of work, I provided a can to discard their cigarette butts they were leaving in my lawn. Additionally, I had to provide equipment, tools, or clean-up materials throughout the time they were working on our project. The materials used and craftmanship is not top quality (deep cracks and huge knots in plywood, framing lumber had rough edges, long nails protruding from outside siding being nailed, etc..). Please check out attached photos looks likes leftover lumber from some other job. Richard Stewart (owner) sold us a huge skylight he had in his inventory. After install it leaked badly along with the storm door his crew installed. Richard sent a crew back 3 times to fix leaks, still not fixed, on the 4th time it appears he stopped the leak from the skylight. The storm door continues to leak, but I will fix.
