        Excellent small hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable beds. Restaurant food excellent. Thanks to intern Xavier at the front desk who was very friendly and kind to my prospective student.

        One night stay. The room was in excellent condition and very clean. The beds were a soft top with a firm mattress. Was a good night sleep but not the best for side sleepers with hips. The overhead shower was lacking in my opinion, but I understand the conservation of water. The heating/AC was a bit loud, making it the worst part of the otherwise best room/stay. I needed some lip balm and got it free at the front desk. The free hot apple cider in the lobby was excellent. The in-house restaurant made excellent food, which they brought up to the room. The complimentary valet parking is a great touch.

        Great area of Waterville right in the middle of town. Close to the bars and to the Opera House. Rooms are spacious and great views of the river and local spots Nearby activities: Opera House, bars, stores. Walkability: Easy walk to bars and Opera House Food & drinks: Gluten Free options available.

        Came across the Lockwood when making a last minute change in location to view the eclipse. It is a smaller, mid upscale hotel in Waterville, ME, near Colby College. Exceptionally clean and well appointed, similar to higher end Marriott or Hyatt, but much more comfortable beds, not even close! Waterville downtown is a resurgent area, with restaurants and art venues very close by in a friendly and safe area. The front desk staff and housekeeping were excellent, and the Front and Main restaurant on site was very good. The common areas and grounds were all very clean and fresh. The hotel seems like the anchor of an interesting revitalized downtown. The location was perfect for my trip- about an hour north of Portland and a couple of hours from Moosehead Lake where I observed the eclipse. Other Maine destinations are reasonable nearby, the coast and Bar Harbor included. Highly recommended!
