I no longer live in Maryland and have been trying to pay my taxes for months. I have called time and time again. Every number I can find, every extension I can find. I sit on hold for hours OR I get "due to high call volume please call back at another time." I have tried to register for iFile and cannot get "verified". It takes WEEKS to get an useless email response and when I ask for a call back via email, I do not get one. I cannot come into the office, I no longer live in the state. I am trying to PAY my taxes, while they continue to tack on interest and fees but I cannot get a hold of anyone at an office or get iFile verified to pay them. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

This is so annoying! I got a mail stating I owed. Fine, I responded to the mail and paid part of my payment plan using cashiers check and mailed my payment plan preferences. Two weeks I get a mail that I am being sent to collections because I didnt respond to the mail, like what the hell??? I just sent your office a cashiers check and payment plan preferences. I gave this organization a benefit of a doubt, I schedule a virtual appointment to to iron out the confusion, they respond with all reminders and saying we will sent you a link to log in on the 29th March, the meeting date arrives no link sent, no follow up email just nothing. I am so upset at your service.

You cannot get through to a human when calling due to high call volume. I wonder why! (Thats sarcasm for those who may miss it). Of course you have a high call volume when you just take active duty military members ENTIRE tax refunds because YOU cant understand that ACTIVE DUTY means we only live in Maryland because WE GOT SENT HERE. Its not hard. You dont have to explain to me why you say I owe; I understand that. What you DO have to explain to me is why me telling you for years that I file taxes with another state due to active duty status doesnt compute for Maryland! Come on, state of Maryland. Give people back their money, stop trying to take active duty service members tax refunds, and accept the heat when angry people just want the money you wrongfully took. Its a part of customer service: Sometimes those customers are angry! Deal with it! People are already struggling just to survive and then you take what they are owed because you dont understand military status? This is why I dont recommend ANYTHING financial in this state. Go buy a house in the Great Plains, buy a car in Jersey, start a business out west. Maryland will tax the life out of everything you do here. 2 out of 10, would not live here again!!
