I can't say enough about Dr. Buerger and his team. I was asked to foster a pup with color dilution alopecia (see photo). This boy came to me underweight, no hair, pink skin, itchy, stinky, losing hair and scabs on his body. We found Dr. Buerger in June 2020 and he has done a wonderful job of helping our boy, yeah, we adopted him :) to feel better. It is a long process, but you can see from the photos that our boy is much healthier (check out his most recent photo with his sister) and happier today and it's all thanks to Dr.Buerger and his team! Thank you!

My dog had been suffering from a rash on her ears, and although my regular vet is great, this was outside their area of expertise and couldnt find a treatment that worked. For two years we tried different creams, medications and cleaning regiments with little to no success. Dr. Berger was able to identify the cause on the first visit and knew exactly what to prescribe. Even better, my chihuahua is not what you would call a social animal, but the whole staff is very patient and gentle with her. I wouldnt take her anywhere else for dermatological issues.

Affordable for a Specialist. Amazing bedside manner. Wonderful with our furbaby. Expert in his field. Baloo, our 15-week-old goldendoodle was diagnosed with a "mild" case of juvenile cellulitis by his regular vet. When he was diagnosed, he had pustules all over his muzzle that were bursting and hurting, as well as swollen lymph nodes in his neck. He had a reduced appetite and less energy than usual. The first vet we saw put him on amoxicillin-clavulanate and said it was probably "just allergies or acne". The second vet we saw diagnosed it as juvenile cellulitis and put him on even more antibiotics. Problem was that the antibiotics didn't seem to be working. He just kept getting worse. When I called to ask about why he wasn't showing signs of improvement and asked about if he should start steroids since JC is an autoimmune disease, they told me that antibiotics should get rid of the problem and I should "just be patient". Well this concerned me of course, so I called up the Veterinary Dermatology Center for an expert's opinion. Of course they were booked for the next three weeks, but when I explained what my poor little dood was going through, he was able to fit us in to his schedule in just three days. Before going, of course my fear was that this is going to break the bank because they won't diagnose without a million tests that will all cost a fortune (I haven't had the best of luck with doctors in the past). Luckily, we were in great hands with Dr. Buerger. He examined our little man, took some samples, and was able to diagnose him within an hour. He is now on the right medication and we are seeing improvement with each passing day. It didn't even break the bank. I mean, it's not cheap, but that is what is costs to get a specialist's opinion. Dr. Buerger was even able to answer all of our questions in terms that I would understand while also giving the scientific explanation to my science-brained fiancé. I couldn't be happier with the Veterinary Dermatology Center. I highly recommend Dr. Buerger and his team!

My dog has been battling pretty significant allergies since I adopted her. We went through the 12 week limited ingredient food trial with our regular vet (something you should do before going through the skin testing procedure and I'm shocked the other reviewer wasn't told that by their vet). Once that showed my dog did not have a food allergy we came to the Veterinary Dermatology Center. Dr. Buerger was wonderful with my skittish dog. He explained everything to our family in detail about the procedure and what it may or may not tell us.The allergy test was administered like you would expect for a child. My dog came back with significant allergies to things like grass, dust mites, food mites, and several other plants around the area. The Dr. and his staff showed my husband and me how to administer the vaccines and were very supportive. Most importantly - the vaccines helped tremendously! My dog was itchy year round - with us constantly trying to keep her from licking the fur off of her feet and face. Six years later she now only flares up in the fall months, and we work with the doctor to monitor and keep her comfortable. I would recommend Dr. Buerger to anyone - he has significantly improved my dog's quality of life.
