I wish I could review the actual care, but it's not a good sign when I've asked to talk to someone three times, been promised a call back three times, and never actually gotten a call back. After a month, I just gave up.

Our son went to Shrewsbury Children's Center from Infant1 through Kindergarten. My husband and I have always been happy with the love and caring these ladies do for the children. And i do need to say when my son started First grade his teacher were very impressed with his reading skills (he was above reading level). I was always impressed with the curriculum also, each class had their own way of learning through play as well as planned activities.

My son has been at Shrewsbury Children's Center since for about a year and a half now (since he was 16 months), and overall the experience has been fantastic. Both sets of teachers he's had have been friendly, enthusiastic, and nurturing. Always willing to chat at the end of the day about the silly things he did, or discuss any challenges he was facing. They were extremely accommodating and helpful with his milk allergy, which he has fortunately since outgrown. Weather-permitting they go outside 3 times a day and have the opportunity to interact with both older and younger children. They have a musician who visits once a week to sing songs, and occasional special activities (which do cost extra) like build your own stuffed animal, and pottery painting. He will be transitioning to preschool next month, so I'm curious to see how the preschool side of the center compares with the toddler rooms. But overall I feel he is extremely well-prepared to be moving up. My only qualms are the exorbitant tuition rates (but this is a problem with ALL daycares, so not something I would dock a star for), and the hours. I am a medical student and once starting clinical rotations will need to work early/late hours. SCC is only open 7:30-5:30. Overall though, my husband and I have passed up the opportunity to switch to the daycare on the UMass campus (which is open 6a-6:30p and slightly cheaper) because we love SCC so much. Our son is so bright, caring, and happy, and I attribute much of that to the incredible care he receives each day.

We’d been on the waiting list since my son was 1, and finally got admitted into the school when he’s 3. Why this daycare has such a long waiting list and why they got so many good reviews? Because they are FANTASTIC! The staff and teachers are very friendly and professional. Worth waiting! We had a very bad experience with a daycare in Auburn. My son cried every time at drop off, got sick almost every other week. Immediately after we transferred my son to SCC, he becomes happy and healthy. He only cried at the drop off on the first day, and that’s it! At the end of the first day, he told me he wants to go to school! The teachers talk to you every morning with patience and smile, share their thoughts and fun things happened to your kids. Most importantly, my son didn’t get sick as often as before when he was with the previous daycare. Unfortunately, we are relocating to another state due to job change. Even with a short period of time, we are extremely happy and satisfied with our experience with SCC. We wish everyone in this school the best and hope this school will continue to spread happiness around the kids in the neighborhood, forever!
