Love that he listened and took our concerns seriously! And he was able to bring our son's seizures under control. He is dedicated and honest. Wonderful experience all together!

Dr. Chugani deserves far more than 5 stars...he is a ROCK STAR - when it comes to diagnosing the undiagnosable. Nearly 15 years ago, he was our last hope for our 17 year old son. We had spent weeks at the Medical University of SC, followed by nearly a month at (then) Miami Children’s Hospital, a weeks long video EEG and myriad of other lab tests and scans yielded less than ideal information for a surgical intervention to save our son’s life. At MCH, we were given the disappointing news that they were unable to properly map his brain, thus deciding surgery was not an ideal treatment for him. But, they were very interested in helping our son. They felt our next best hope was in Dr. Harry Chugani in Detroit. He was devising and perfecting use of PET Scans in childhood/adolescent brain dysfunctions. We waited nearly two months for the appointment in Detroit...then we spent 3 days watching this amazing man prepare our son for scans he perfected and tailored to my son’s needs. On the fourth day, Dr. Chugani walked out of the scan room and said...I FOUND IT! Three words, three words and my son had his miracle. Three months later we returned to Miami Children’s hospital for surgery to remove a very small wrecking ball in ours son’s Brain! Let’s now fast forward 15 years later...our son is a now a Board Certified Neurologist - completing his residency (mom moment: he has served as Chief Resident this final year) and will soon enter an intense Fellowship Procram in Neuro Critical Care. It is hard to believe this is the same skinny kid with seizures so horrific that we were advised at one point to stop trying to find the answer/cure and go home and love him! Thank GOD for the incredible Dr. Harry Chugani, his research and commitment to SEE the brain and it’s functions through better scans, his tireless work with PET Scan and his continued efforts in this field, because it matters in a HUGE HUGE way! Of course, there were many hero docs and surgeons that got us to that surgery day, but no one could have ever told us that our son would never have another seizure. And, he never had another. Dr. Harry Chugani, yes, you are a ROCK STAR so 5 Stars are no where near enough for you!
