my vet mentioned this as an option, when you go to their web site it says suites with tvs..etc.. When you call the long lake facility they have no idea what you are talking about and will not let you look at the facility period, you are just to drop your dog off. When you call the Burnsville location, they first answer under a different name than Augusta and they semi acknowledge that their web site states tvs and suites. Will not be exploring futurer

The absolute worst instructor yes my dog was hard to handle, but thats the point of being here. Instead of helping our problem dog, our instructor decided to just ignore and pretend we werent even there. Total waste of time and money. If your dog isnt perfect (or a hard case) dont bother. This particular trainer gives zero attention to the dogs who need her assistance most.

Hired Augusta for in-home training to help correct some unruly behavior of our 1+ year old Vizsla. We found 3 things about this outfit:1. They use "aversion" training - for us, the owner, Kathryn, insisted we use a "prong collar" - which is banned in several countries, plus a bunch of recommendations to "assert our dominance".2. They espouse "dominance theory" in understanding dog behavior - and therefore all advice was based on this. This theory has been debunked by dog experts.3. They charge for every interaction - they wanted about $1,000 for the 6-session "training program". When we cancelled citing our dissatisfaction with their training approach, she insisted that the first session was paid for - over $100. The training and especially use of the prong collar did not go well. Our dog was becoming fearful and more reactive. We did research to find out more - and found the use of prong collars is considered "cruel"; aversion training creates fearful, unpredictable dogs; and "dominance theory" has largely been debunked.Further, we found a blog post on Augusta's own website for January, 2022 that laid out and exposed the perils of using both aversion training and dominance theory in training dogs. With links to the experts in each area. Further research confirmed this, plus the fact "prong collars" are banned in several countries - Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Austria, Germany to name a few. When confronting Kathryn with this - which was leading our dog to become fearful and reactive - especially towards using the prong collar - she agreed to part ways. She refunded part of our money - turns out the first session was "charged".Postscript: When reviewing their website after this interaction - the blog post on their site about "reward-based versus aversion training" was gone - replaced with a promo puff piece about their ongoing relationship and being featured on KARE11 here in the Twin Cities. Says a lot about how these people operate!
