I had no hot water because of lack of annual maintenance on my 5 year old Rinnai tankless water heater. I had called one large plumbing company and they came LATE and inspected the problem by taking off the outside cover and ignition cover and gave me a bogus prognosis of the issue, but said another technician would be able to help me the next day because he lacked the necessary tools to fix the problem. The other technician came LATE the next day and, he too, did not have the necessary tools and told me that the ignition was messed with and in fact, one of the three ignitors was put in backwards, and tried to blame me, as if I took it apart. He also pulled at wires that were behind a plastic shield in the unit and I asked him what was he doing. He quoted me a repair of at least $800 to $1000 or that the entire unit may need to be replaced for thousands and it could take up to two weeks, due to the Christmas holiday, and delays in shipping. My experience with them raised many red flags. Desperate as I was, I did not use them. I called Bryan Hollis at Southeast Plumbers from W. Columbia. He came out to me the next day and examined the tankless Rinnai water heater and serviced it, as I had told him about the lack of maintenance and also ordered the parts he saw were faulty, due to the examination by the first set of technicians. He showed me and explained what had been done and what actually needed to be done. He told me that he would need to come back when the ordered parts were shipped to him overnight. They were shipped the next day, Christmas Eve, and he fixed the tankless water heater that night at 8:00pm, on Christmas Eve, so we could have hot water on Christmas, after having none for 4 days. His price was also less than half of the quote by the larger company, which included the overnight shipping and parts, and the original servicing. Trust is a very important quality in a business, and you can trust that Southeast Plumbing, as Bryan is the owner, is knowledgeable, fair, honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend him to anyone needing plumbing work or to troubleshoot a tankless water heater. He saved the day for me at Christmas. Thank you so much.
