Owner sub contracted out my two living room chairs and they turned out great. So I got back in touch and asked for my 8 DR chairs to be recovered and 4 matching slip covers made. Owner did the work himself and it was definitely not as good as the sub contractor’s, received two of the slip covers with a promise he’d drop the other two by...paid for everything in full, believing him. Three months later, many, many unreturned messages and now a disconnected phone number, I still don’t have the other two and to make things worse, the fabric was a discontinued pattern and I’ve no way to purchase more. 😡

I had Accent and Design reupholster a matching antique sofa and chair and the workmanship was terrible! I noticed immediately when they delivered it that they had decreased the thickness of the cushions by a good 3" which was awful. It made my ornate furniture look cheap and mismatched like the cushions were from a more contemporary set. Upon closer scrutiny, the tension on the fabric of both the sofa and chair was greater on the right than on the left which made the backs slope from left to right. There are other asymmetrical aspects as well. They also did not match the zippers in the cushions to the fabric - they are stark white! I stopped by the shop to talk to Ken about my dissatisfaction and show him pictures I had taken with my phone. He went in the back to talk to whichever employee worked on my set. He came back out and agreed to pick them up and try to fix them and then made arrangements with me to pick up my furniture and fix the problems. The only thing that changed was the thickness of the cushions was increased - but not to the original size. I am still very unhappy with the look of my sofa and chair and will have them redone by someone else as soon as I save up the money I wasted on this job. Live and learn - do NOT pay until you see the final result and are extremely happy with it. With that said - I had an accent chair done there at the same time with material I provided and it turned out beautifully. THAT is what earned the 2nd star. I would have otherwise given them ONE star. If the work on the sofa and matching chair would have been of this caliber, I would have given a LOT more stars. In summary, its a crap shoot to have work done here. If you have a few thousand to blow - take a chance. If not, go somewhere else.
