I called in reference to a house that I wanted to view at 11am. We set up an appointment for 5pm that day. When I spoke to John (the listed seller for that house on the website) on the phone he asked if I had gone to get pre-approval paperwork yet and I said no. I asked if we needed that to view the house and he said no. I got a call at 430pm from someone else (who was saying now that she was the agent in charge of selling this home) that I had to fill out paperwork in order to see the home and "obviously" now there was not enough time to do paperwork or see it that dag. I told her that John told me that I didn't need that paperwork. She said she would call me back and when she did she told me that in fact we could not see the home without the paperwork and I asked why he didn't tell me that hours ago but there was no answer for that. Then John called me to say that we needed the paperwork and I asked him why he didn't tell me this hours ago and he skated around the question and had no answer for it. He proceeded to tell me that "this house was shown 11 times yesterday *pause for effect* and by the time you got the preapproval paperwork it will probably be sold anyway." In short, I wasn't angry because I needed pre-approval paperwork (my husband is military and I work full-time, so it isn't an issue), I was angry because they were completely unprofessional and clearly are not on the same page about their policies.
