My brother hit a deer with his '05 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, and inadvertently, because a transmission cooler line broke, ran it out of fluid. I called McDonnell's to have the transmission looked at, to have the transfer case adapter seal looked at because it kept breaking, and to replace the trans oil cooler. The phone calls were the first good experience. The second was dropping the truck off. The check-in area is clean and bright. The staff are all friendly, welcoming and professional. I was called and updated and asked before any major issue was addressed. This was right before Christmas, and shortly after the New Year, COVID kept some of the techs out. With all that, the truck got done in a timely manner. The third positive experience was the quality of work and the cost. The cost was less than I anticipated, and the techs take a personal interest in the work they do. I've already told my entire family about the inspection McDonnell's performs, and about the welcoming atmosphere. McDonnell's will be seeing more of me, and I highly recommend them as a first source for any mechanical issue. I contacted this shop (all correspondence with them came from Grey Beard Automotive) to inspect a vehicle that I was driving from out of state to purchase. They were able to get it in fast, which I appreciate, but they missed that the heater core was shot. After a very cold 4 hour drive home the truck is now in a shop getting a $2000 repair. I contacted the shop to express my disappointment and was spoon fed excuses about how they don't stand behind their technicians or work.

My son's school helped have a car I just bought March of 2021 evaluated by ATS only, was called and told I needed my engine basically rebuilt ($900)running well over what his school could cover ($300, which ATS was informed of before even dropping it off)so I told them to just forget it all and picked it up only to sell it to a mechanic friend for peanuts in August and find out it just needed a timing belt but it seems they did "some work" and took parts out of my car and just kept them I guess.... (Thermostat housing, front clutch fan and it's cover plus about a dozen bolts that these things required to put back in)
Also took another vehicle of mine for a tune up, brakes and rotors in April 2021(no inspection needed, I knew what I needed done to this vehicle and made the appointment for these things only) shortly after dropping it off they called and tried to convince me my brand new ball joints and boots were "super old and torn on 1 of them"- Chuck, went back to where I had them done and shown to me that I was lied to for a possible extra 600$.. I hope Aiden sees this. *Also love that my son's school was charged for the inspection of the first vehicle when you advertised free inspections at my time of service*
*The snarky comment of "funny how you were unhappy with service but came back for repairs on a second vehicle" unprofessional and unnecessary because if you had read the order of how this went, it wasn't until I was paying out of pocket for repairs to the second vehicle that I felt taken advantage of and wasn't until much later after the first vehicle was sold and repaired that I learned of the missing pieces to said first car.
My only concern in posting this review is the way I was taken advantage of and not contacted privately after trying for 2 weeks. Professionalism still lacking obviously.

ATS sends you a thorough report including pictures of your vehicle. They are very professional and easy to work with. I will definitely continue using ATS and recommend this business to everI know! Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Brakes, Oil change

I am new to town, so finding a good mechanic is very important to me. I had read many excellent reviews for McDonnell's ATS, so I decided to take my son's car to them. His car was making horrible sounds underneath and I didn't think he should be driving it anymore. McDonnell's ATS did a full diagnostic of the car and emailed me the results, with a ranking of the importance of each recommended repair. I really appreciated being emailed that information so that I could take my time reviewing their detailed report.
What I appreciated most though was their honestly regarding if the car should be fixed. Being an older car, I was leaning towards not fixing it believing that the price it would take to repair it exceeded the price the car was worth. McDonnell's ATS gave me their honest opinion, which earned my trust. I wouldn't hesitate to take any car of mine to McDonnell's ATS.
