I have many wonderful memories of Aunt & Uncle Dick. They let me stay at the farm during all of the war years.

Years later I was working in Pittsburgh, PA and heard a very familiar voice, only thing was it was coming from Jim, not Uncle Dick.

They treated me as one of the family, down to a spanking from Aunt Dick that was the worst (perhaps best) thing for me. I don't have words enough to describe how living with them during that time allowed me to see what a FAMILY was really like.

Years later my wife and I were volunteering as docents traveling from Denver to Grand Junction and had the chance to meet a Japanese man, my age. He, too, had been blessed to be able to live with a farm family during the war. Our experiences were very similar.
