This is the first cenmentary in Virginia city. NV. Graves were dated from the 1800s... it also has guilded tours.. there's a booklet as you go in and it tells you how to connect to audio to listen to the different stories of the towns people that are now buried there. The graves had stones on certain ones. We had no ideas what they meant. My granddaughter wanted to get one. and I told her we must never take anything from someone's grave. We must always respect the dead. For they all had a life and are resting in peace now. After we left and were back in town I asked about the rocks on the graves and was told the rocks were put on a grave to show that it was visited. I had a very peaceful feeling there and I belive they knew we were there.

Very interesting! People from around the world are buried here...some living into their late 80's and 90's in the 1800's now that's amazing

This cemetery is a must see if you are in Virginia City. It is massive and has a large number of interesting monuments. On the gate there is a sign informing of an app you can download with narrative about people who are buried there, their lives, and the cemetery itself. I could only get it to work intermittently, but what little I could get was fascinating. You might even see a wild horse wandering through.
