I have always wanted to learn karate. My uncle has been doing it for over 30 years. I did some research on some of the local karate / martial arts schools and chose Granite State American Kenpo Karate School. I am so glad I did! The instructors are incredible and the the higher ranking members are very helpful. I have only completed two weeks of training, but I feel more confident each class and keep building on what I learned. I'd like to shoutout Mr. Noviello, Mr. Naamani, Mr. DeMidio, Mr. Cook, and Ms. Marueen! You all have been welcoming and encouraging! Thank you! See you next class!

My kids have been going to GSAK for 6 years. The instructors are amazing. They have taught confidence and leadership skills which my kids use in school and other daily activities. The kids also love to attend summer camp and parent night out events. Highly recommend!!

My kids LOVE their classes at GSAK. The classes have helped them with focus, respect, and I see how much pride they have in themselves when they know they have worked hard to learn something new. The instructors are all very positive and supportive, especially when theyre struggling, and they all really care about the kids AND the parents. Really a wonderful place to be involved.

Pros: The instructors do a great job working with the kids. They keep them moving and motivated. They focus on more than martial arts. They have equipment that the kids get to use often. They offer additional programs. Cons: They fill your email with tons of additional promotional stuff to have you buy more. And you can not separate the spam emails from the informational emails (like class is canceled due to snow). Highly annoying. Classes are short/ rushed feeling at only 30 minutes long - this is typical for most karate places though. The instructors do not wear face masks even during the Omicron surge or around young children not old enough to have been vaccinated. The seating for parents is too small to maintain safe distance without masks but masking is not recommended to parents. The environment is not safe feeling for those whom science and safety is a priority. This is something to consider before signing your child up as the Zoom classes are not the same as the in person classes. Once you are signed up for classes you go to them and leave. In between its hard to talk to instructors. Would be nice if there was a 10-15 minute space between classes for parent interaction so we could ask things like how do you tie the belt and they could show you. Especially when you are brand new. Would share this constructive feedback with the owner but the last time I did so I was dismissed on social media. I thought Id do it more professionally here this time, as he suggested. Yes, - dont post on their social media about suggestions for mask reminder signage at the business because the owner will tell you to reach out in a more professional manner. Clearly hes trying to hide his anti mask and vax approach but thats not something you can hide. Your policy shows your stance and the tone you set for your staff for your members speaks volumes. You show us that you dont want about 50% of community to patronize your business because thats about how divided this area is on it. Myself, I try to just speak up for my family. But there are other parents who tend to gravitate to me and speak their opinions to me and I feel obligated to then relay their feedback - these opinions are not just my own. Take it how you will but hopefully when considering if this place is good for you or not this info on my experience can help you decide if its a fit for you or not. After signing up in December we are canceling our membership in January. The owner decided to harass me via email, kick my 7 year old son out, aggressively threaten my business via email, talk negatively about my company (which has nothing to do with my civil conversation I tried to have about masks during covid at his business) and has some weird pyramid scheme with the older kids who teach the classes at his studio. After chatting with other mothers who bring their kids ton this place, it's clear that the owner is the problem. Everyone likes Quinn. And everyone I speak to has negative experiences that leave a sour taste in their mouths. The only reason they bring their kids is because it's a convenient location or fits their schedule. I HIGHLY suggest supporting a different business where the owner treats the community with more compassion, kindness and empathy.
