At the first of the year I received information from GEICO Ins. that my auto insurance premium was being raised approximately 30% for no apparent reason. I was outraged! I called GEICO immediately and waa told this was an across the board price increase in my state of New Hampshire. My three insured vehicles had obviously gotten one year older at the beginning of 2023 which means they have all decreased in value, which means a smaller payout from GEICO if something were to happen. I had been a GEICO policy holder for more than 20 years. Apparently that meant nothing to them, which in turn,m convinced me that GEICO now meant nothing to me...go figure... GEICO was not going to negotiate with a customer of more than 20 years.
I decided to explore my options. The first call I made was to Progressive Ins. They quickly took my information on my three vehicles and gave me a quote that was 33% less that my new rate with GEICO and with a deductible of $500. instead of the $1,000. deductible I had with GEICO. Obviously I became a new Progressive policy holder and I paid up front for six months with an additional $100. dollars off.
I canceled my policy with GEICO immediately.
Always do some research with other insurance companies after you've been a customer of theirs for awhile. Lesson learned.
