Stay away from this firm. My Mother in law has been going to Stephen Gunby for the last 6 years. She has been paying about $400 each year to have her taxes done. Mr. Gunby informed her that this year, she would have to pay $4,595 !!! I called and asked Mr. Gunby about what I believe to be taking advantage of a senior, and 3 separate times he told me that this was "his choice", and that my Mother in law could go anywhere to get her taxes done. Unfortunately, Mr. Gunby has all of her records, and he has a $2,500 fee to release her own records back to her. There is no misunderstanding here, as I had a very specific discussion with him. We are calling the AICPA to lodge a complaint, and we will be contacting the State Attorney General as well. There are plenty of reputable CPAs in the area - find one other than this one.
