Sammans Electronics

My recommendation is DO NOT SHOP HERE !! In my opinion, there is only two ways a small electronics shop could stay open for 20 years. Either by being honest and fair or swindling their customers. My experience left me with the impression that Samman's sales people are dishonest. Like another reviewer mentioned, they will never admit they advised you poorly and made a mistake. They will say anything to get the sale and then will charge you a 20% restocking fee when you ask for a refund because they didn't know what they were talking about. A part of me believes this might be part of their business strategy. If you are ever in Wayne, NJ and are considering shopping here, do yourself a favor and keep driving. Everyone complains about Americans not supporting small businesses but a lot of them are shady and you are better off shopping at Best Buy, Lowes, or Home Depot.

How bad is Sammans? Stay away and you will never have to find out. I took a chance on this small business and paid dearly for it. I bought a "new" unit, but the box looked like it fell off the back of a truck and was dragged for a few miles. I should have gone with my gut instinct and asked for a refund immediately, but I didn't. Once I opened the box, there were no manuals inside and the item looked like it had already been used. Also, it did not work properly. Don't be fooled, this store is a family business so the sales people are the owners and they never had any staff turn over. Any bad experience you've had at a big chain store can't compare. Its too bad there isn't a lower rating because that's how bad this store really is

I noticed that some reviewers had some very negative things to say about Sammans. In all honesty, I must say that a long time ago I might have agreed! There was a major staff turnover and the people who were not exactly helpful are no longer there. When I shopped there last year, I found the staff to be knowledgeable, helpful and most important, willing to negotiate on price. To be honest, i don't know why consumers go to a store like Best Buy because there are no long lines here, and the prices are lower. While it is true that you may have to negotiate a bit with the sales people, I left the store with a flat screen TV, almost $200 less expensive than Best Buy. My suggestion is that if you had a negative experience here, try it again with the new staff. I never returned anything so I can not comment on their return policy. As a matter of fact, my brother in law and sister in law just purchased an entire kitchen from Sammans and were very happy with both price and installation!
