Some of the cleanest rooms we saw on a cross country trek, breakfast was good. Motel was also cat friendly.

In the chilly night, we checked in. Taking precautions and wearing a mask, the gentleman and owner cracked open the door a smidge to ask for partial information from me. After the whole process was completed, he kindly handed me a sack containing an apple and muffin telling me that breakfast would consist of fresh baked goods. I was already pleased with his greeting and kindly manners. A little goodie bag was also a kind gesture. Using an actual key to open the room, opening the door to a room not stinking of smoke was a real breath of fresh air. Original foundation and walls held together a room of quite antiquity. Turning on the furnace to warm the room felt of home, while beds of comfort awaited. A basic bathroom was pleasing to the eye with its cute shelf of complimentary shampoo and body wash atop it. Cleanliness of it all had us feeling comfortable and at home, away from home. Old time feels echoed from the room as did the hotel sign. The entire premise echoed vintage, old, and unique but not retired. Peace and quiet, when paying no mind to the passing semi rumbles of the highway, it was exactly what we received. With a restful nights sleep, we awoke to the beautiful sunlight peeping through the blinds to welcome a new day. Contentment and satisfaction was all we could express when leaving this little but gem of a place. It didnt disappoint nor will it again when we venture back into town someday. Sunset Hotel, you have done well. May you continue to flourish.
