Jim Maduena has built 3 custom homes and a guest house for us in the last 25 years, in 1994, 1995, 2009, and most recently the house that we moved into in Santa Fe in the summer of 2020. He worked with us on the design and then every step of the way, and we have a beautiful, energy efficient home.
When we were looking for a builder for our first house, another builder said 'ka-ching' every time we suggested something, Jim came out to our land with a cup of coffee one morning to watch how the sun came up over the ridge behind our future homesite. We knew then that this was our builder.
He told us to tell him everything we wanted and then showed us how to shape our dream into a reality that we could afford. He worked within our budget (our contract included a guaranteed maximum price so we knew at all times what we were getting ourselves into---this compared to our neighbors who went 40% over budget on their house with a different builder).
He gives each project his all, is incredibly meticulous and caring about doing things right, He has a great eye for design and detail, and for problem solving how to make the best use of space. There is nothing quite like having a home that is designed exactly for who you are and for how you live in your space.
With our new building project, it was important to us to have a green, energy efficient home, and in the years since he built our first house, Jim has become one of the premier green builders in the state.
