Came twice to deal with water coming up through the drain in my basement. Charged a fortune both times for snaking the drain and for snaking with a camera and gave me no real answer as to what the problem was. I've been calling for two days to get an answer with no call backs, and Tat, who finally took my call, now tells me it's our fault for using "heavy" toilet paper. Really? And your own man yesterday told us we needed a check valve installed, which doubtless would have cost us even more money?? Oh, he should have called Tat, I'm told. Right! Worst plumber in Queens.

My problem with Karl's is that they charge very high prices and hope you will not compare them to other local companies that do an equally good job for a much more reasonable price. We recently received an estimate from Karl's that was two to three times higher than another local firm. Karl's also billed us for coming to give the estimate -- and doing no work whatsoever. After I wrote this review and complained to the Better Business Bureau, we did receive a call from one of the managers and they agreed not to charge us for the estimate. That shows some responsiveness, but I think it only happened because we complained publicly. Service: Boiler repair
