Classic love story- I walked past this restaurant one day while heading to another restaurant in the East Village when I did a double take on the menu. Pretzel-crusted fried chicken? Mac n' queso? This place had my heart. After months of having this restaurant on my must-try list, I finally made dinner reservations and dined there with 5 of my friends. The restaurant is small and very cute. It feels like you've fallen down the rabbit hole and are suddenly in a wonderland of oversized utensils and clocks. Despite the modest space, they were easily and cheerfully able to accommodate our table of 5, which half an hour into the dinner turned to a table of 6. So this place is a small plates kind of joint, which I normally despise (unless it's dim sum) because it always costs so much to get full off small plates. However, after leaving here, our group of 6 were just perfectly satiated from the 10 dishes we ordered. And they are (drum roll please): Disco is Dead: These tatertots did not look like what anyone would imagine a dish of tatertots would look like. They were swimming in the duck gravy, but still very delicious. Pretzel Crusted Fried Chicken: The bombbbbbb. I want to go back, drench that delicious crunchy, salty thing in chipotle honey and eat just that all by myself. Phat Beets: This arugula salad was surprisingly good. Nacho Libre: Nachos should have cheese. The fried tortillas were good and I appreciated this dish but nachos should really have cheese. Lots of cheese. The lack of cheese was disheartening. Scallops: Who doesn't like scallops? Mac n' Queso with Mushrooms: Spiral noodles with a great mix of some crispy naked pieces and some ooey, gooey cheesy pieces. Helped make up for the nacho's lack of cheese. Seared Tuna Sesame Sliders: Eh. Bread kind of overwhelmed the dish. Loved the cucumber "sketti" though. If only I could replace all my pasta intake with cucumber noodles... Belly Rub: Eh. Maybe I don't like dry pork belly? Ricotta Have It Gnocchi: Amazinnggggg. You can smell the truffle oil from a mile away. Just how I like it. Gyrolicious: Eh. Too much lamb. Not enough sauce. Oh and did I mention we got delicious complimentary pumpkin soup topped with toasted pumpkin seeds? Overall, great service, great atmosphere and to top it off, they bring you your check in these classic children/young adult books from your youth. Mwah, I love you, Tink's.

Everything on the menu sounded good for brunch, but I settled on a fritata. It was delicious. Service is excellent, and there was no problem at all. I'll have to come back for dinner.
