BEWARE! DO NOT USE! If I could give negative stars, I most certainly would. I was connected to this person through Home Advisor because my house was flooding and I needed emergency water extraction and abatement. Hector, this "business" owner, accepted the job through Home Advisor and when we spoke on the phone, I explained that I was ankle-deep in water and more rainwater was coming in. He assured me--and Home Advisor--that he had the proper equipment (dehumidifiers, commercial-grade fans and shop vacs, etc.) and a full-service crew. No problem. He sent his "crew" over ahead of him, which consisted of a lady who answers phones for him and her son who said he was just there to keep his mom company. They had no equipment and no clue about what to do, so they sat around and chatted while I used a broom and mop to try to extract the water from my house, by myself. When Hector finally arrived, he too was empty-handed! No dehumidifiers, no crew, no suctioning equipment, no high-powered fans, NOTHING. I was stunned, confused, and very uncomfortable. I told him I had opened a claim with my insurance company and he wrote the claim number down on an essentially blank piece of paper that he held onto until just before he left. He walked around with his phone taking pictures, and said 'Yeah, it's wet' (really?!?) and he was going to have to rip out all of my baseboards and drywall, but not to worry--he had contractors. As he was leaving, He asked me to sign the piece of paper that just had my name, his name and number, and a typewritten list of over 70 possible services that could be performed on any given job. The print was too tiny and overly Xeroxed to read, but he said it just authorized him to contact my insurance provider and start working on an estimate. As he and his 'crew's were walking out, I asked, "Don't you even have a fan or something you can leave here?" He said he might have one or two in his car. He came back in with two tiny little fans (which I ended up not using because I have several bigger, more powerful ones) and I asked 'what do I do if the water starts coming in again?" He said "don't worry. Just give me a call. I wrote my cellphone number down for you." I spent the next hour continuing my cleanup and doing my best to fortify my house from the continuing rain. When I sat down to try to read the 70-plus services listed on this piece of paper, the prices were so inflated and absurd. I did a quick calculation in my head, and according to this list, he was prepared to charge my insurance company/me over $1,000 for doing absolutely nothing! I immediately called him and said he was not authorized to do any work at my home and I told him to retrieve his fans. He responded that I still owed him $1,000. For doing nothing. I cannot stress this enough! But worse than that, when he came by 24 hours later to get his little fans, he cursed me out, threatened me, told me he 'knew people' in the neighborhood, he would slander my name, put a lien on my house, said I messed withe wrong person, and on and on. I of course called the police, and fortunately, everything was captured (audio and video) on my and my neighbor's security cameras. I also did a video conference call with my insurance provider AND Home Advisor to show them that no work was performed and the outrageous fees he was trying to collect from me and/or my insurance carrier. If for no other reason than your safety, do not use this company! He is not the water extraction specialist he claims to be. The only thing he seems to want to extract is money, from your pocket into his.
