If these guys didn't secure builder contracts, there's no way they'd be in business. Poor landscaping and minimal hydroseed (and what sprouted is junk). Trees blow over because they stop digging when it gets difficult. Save your money.

My experience was Hansen was certainly a mixed bag. I can say off the bat that Sam who I dealt with is a very nice and positive customer service contact to deal with. He seems knowledgeable, is hands on in the estimate and actual job process. I just feel that his time/efforts are stretched thin by bad time management and inefficient practices from most likely an overwhelming work load. Taking on too much work is a thin line any contractor has to deal with, and I am sure a super rainy 2017 did not help. Was contacted by Sam via HA in early March ’17. Quoted for 27-heads/6-Zones at a reasonable price. I was able unable to get any other quotes at that time due a freak snowstorm in Mid-March. 2 weeks later, Sam called that if I wanted to go with them, a contract would need to be signed VERY soon due to their schedule being filled. Negotiated price and completion date by end of March ’17. I also added on hydroseeding since they were going to be there completing system – this was outside the sprinkler contract. Due to heavy rain season, their team did not come to start until 3 days after agreed COMPLETION date. A no-call/no-show occurred after they said they would be coming. What was supposed to be 1-day and 1 short morning, took 1-day and well past time estimated on a 2nd. Here were my issues: Work seemed VERY rushed as they were struggling to finish by 5pm the 2nd day. Just did not make for a confident completion of project Tape, tubing, debris and marked flags left all over the yard, some buried in mud. Some tubing and other fixtures in my yard are not covered/buried, left exposed System is much bigger than quoted, 34-heads/8-zones (they did NOT charge me more) System controls set up in basement, which I agreed to, after they claimed extra work to put in garage which I requested Hydroseeding was sloppy and barely finished my needed areas. Some areas were over-seeded and slurry never broke down, some spots thin/did not finish but did not come back to finish I reached out to Sam regarding concerns and to see if seed survived after HARSH rain the day of installation (just my luck!); 3 weeks and numerous texts later, no follow up. In the end however, I am still somewhat pleased with their work. My system works, I need to tweak heads a bit, as 34 heads are probably harder to manage to ensure areas are not over-watered. Due to the mild & rainy ’17 spring/summer, all seeded areas basically took and now in July, I have a pretty much green “lawnâ€. It is not the best grass, but like any other new yard, will require an over-seed in the fall. My concerns now are my water bill (of course!) and getting Hansen to follow through with their 1-time free winter maintenance of system in the fall. Sam is who I dealt with and after a lot of texts and phone calls over time, he met all of my requests and questions, except the last one, which I gave his team chance to take care of my concerns before my review. Would I recommend Hansen? I honestly do not know – Landscaping is a tough business and also demanding when Mother Nature does not cooperate. Despite the headaches and anxiety this project brought on, the end result worked out pretty good. My negotiations were very favorable so I cannot complain about price for what I got. I think when season is little calmer and less rainy, their time management and work shows true. Just be weary of a thinned-out team during busy season.
