Incompetent billing department. I have been trying to get refunded for an improper bill since August 6th but they are acting in bad faith and essentially making no effort to resolve the situation. They even admitted that they haven't contacted my insurance.

This is my second sleep study and I would never chose to have one at this particular place again! The room was hot, probably because they only give you a thin mascara marked up sheet with hair on my pillowcase and a very thin blanket that looked like it was purchased at a garage sale. You do have a private bathroom though, loaded with bleach, which bothered my asthma. The toilet is low like you're in elementary school, not good for seniors or people with knee problems. The mattress is very thin and of poor quality. Car lights from the parking lot beamed in through the blinds. I literally held my breath several times trying to figure out this noise I was hearing every time I laid my head on the pillow, I finally had to ask my technician if someone was sleeping directly behind my head and yes they were and I could hear them. The technician, Holly, who was wonderful gave me earplugs but by then half my night was already over. This place is not AT ALL set up for a good night sleep! I already felt like they knew before I even had this test that Ognomy was prepared to bill me and my insurance company for a CPAP machine. This Doctor's business model is an obvious money maker, not to actually help people. I did not snore at all but I can bet I will be diagnosed with sleep apnea( probably because I held my breath). If so, I will repeat this test at the sleep study place on Transit that did my first study 6 years ago, at least there it somewhat feels like a Hotel room and you can actually sleep. I had a HORRIBLE sleep here at 1020 Youngs Road, Dr. Daniel Rifkins office and would not recommend doing your study here!

A very poorly run office; never met the doctor despite having been a patient for years. Trying to schedule or reschedule an appointment is an unnecessary ordeal from waiting on hold incessantly, dropped calls, mumbling operators with no proper annunciation to comprehend what they say. I can't believe I stayed here this long until I have now had enough. Consider other reviewers commentary and you decide. All I can tell you is that their experiences are neatly parallel to what I have gone through.

My experience with Sleep Medicine Centers started out great but quickly deteriorated. Now i'm unsure of what to do next. To summarize what brought me here; I had COVID pretty severely in March of 2020. I recovered from it but had some lasting side effects. It's possible that my breathing has been impacted, I have also gained some weight. Recently I have been experiencing some pretty serious symptoms. I fall asleep driving, sitting at red lights, while sitting at my desk at work, while looking at my phone, etc... My body feels extremely weak and I lack the energy to be on my feet longer than a few minutes at a time. Horrible acid reflux, swelling in my joints, and of course the anxiety and depression that goes along with feeling like you're falling apart physically. I spoke to my primary doctor about these symptoms, and he referred me to Sleep Medicine Centers for a sleep study. My insurance company denied the in-office study so they gave me equipment to take home to conduct an at-home sleep study. Only a few days later I received a call from them, stating that I needed to come in for an appointment to discuss the results. The appointment was scheduled for the very next week. At my appointment I met with a very kind PA, whose name I can't recall, and he explained to me that my results indicated i had severe sleep apnea. As a matter of fact, I was having 97 apnic events per hour, which was pretty extreme, and my oxygen level dropped to a concerning level as well. It all seemed to be very severe, and very important that we do something right away. He told me that I would likely need a Bi-PAP machine, instead of a C-PAP. He stated that in order to be issued the Bi-PAP, and for insurance purposes, I had to do another sleep study, in-office this time. I expressed some concern because my insurance was going to be ending within a week (my wife changed employers) AND i had just done a sleep study at home but he stated that this was urgent and they needed to record data with me on a C-PAP, so they'd schedule me for the sleep study only a few days later. I went in for the sleep study and was taken care of by a very friendly technician (he was awesome), and they put me on the machine and did their testing/adjustments throughout the night. In the morning he stated that it usually takes about 7 to 10 days for the results to be interpreted and the order sent to the distributer that I selected. (I just chose someone out of the phonebook called Buffalo CPAP). After two weeks had gone by without a phone call, I called the Sleep Medicine Center. After sitting on hold for about 10 minutes a woman answered and told me that they were still waiting on my results to be returned at which point they'd send the order over to BuffaloCPAP who would then contact me. Suddenly doesnt feel very urgent anymore... Now three weeks has gone by. Two days ago I called their office and sat on hold until a call center grabbed my call and took a message for a call back which never came. Today i called again and sat on hold for 15 minutes before i had to hang up. I am at a loss for what to do at this point. All the people I have dealt with here were very friendly and professional, but i was made to believe that this was an urgent matter, and it's seriously affecting my life, and they are impossible to get ahold of and they make no effort to provide status updates.
