The Finmore really is a nice place to live. While it certainly is on the higher end of the price spectrum for student housing in Boone, it is likewise higher than average in quality. Issues are usually addressed quickly if they arise at all and the amenities are very nice. I do wish that the building were smaller or at least had 2 elevators, though, as it can be a fairly long walk to your room.

This place has flooded pretty regularly since December. Its flooded yesterday on the second floor as I type this. The actual student staff and maintenance workers are awesome, its the management and owners that make this a bad place to live. Rent is like 800 bucks for a four bedroom and no parking, and YOU WILL get towed. There is no guest parking. Grandparents coming to visit? Tell them to park at State Farm and make the uphill walk. Elevators are shaky and break down regularly. Apartments certainly look nice, but the paint is thin and the appliances like dishwashers are terrible. I cant believe their handling of the flooding. Students couldnt get in contact with anyone for days and everything was destroyed. How does a brand new building in Boone not anticipate cold water in the pipes? The gym has had no carpet since dec 24th, the hot tub is closed regularly and the collapsed roof has just been placed beside it since like October. If I were a new student looking to move to Boone, this would be at the bottom of my list.

I have toured The Finmore twice now, and both time have been greeted with smiling faces and lots of energy. Miles gave my roommates and I a tour both times and was phenomenal! Cant wait to live here next here.
