Took my Big Blue Classic Chevy to HIcks Performance for the LS engine swap and upgrade. The engine is a junk rebuilt and has been refreshed internally. He said it will only take 2 months to complete and took OVER A YEAR to finish. The car was parked in a spot for a long time with no progress. I would NOT recommend anyone to go thru this TERRIBLE experience and get ripped off. I don't go there anymore and I'll take my business somewhere else than to take it back there. Took my car for an Repair Pal Insurance covered auto repair. This shop is a warehouse style filthy chop shop with junk cars outside. Kevin talked to the insurance and sourced out the replacement engine. He said it'll only take 2-3 week since he was able to source the engine for the car. Time has passed and car was not done and sat outside the shop. Kevin gave me lot of lies and excuses on the progress status of the car and took almost 2.5 month before we got it back. Called the insurance and they can't do anything will the car is finished. Called the Better Business Bureau and they can't do anything since the shop is not accredited. Got the car Very disappointed on the works and looks like a jimmy rigged install. Save your self the headaches and disappointments. I took my car to Hicks Performance and only been victimized by Kevin. I highly recommend to STAY AWAY as he will over charge you from what was clearly quoted and took a long time to finish. and if you don't pay him for his jacked up work and no warranty works., You will go thru an extensive legal procedure as he will avoid / prolong in court. and will charge you storage and apply a mechanics lien to take possession of your vehicle. After I tried to file a complaint with the NC BBB. I have learned that Kevin Charles Hicks business is NOT registered / NO ACCREDITATIONS since it has POOR / TERRIBLE complaint history on records with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and they recommend do stay away from shady business like Hicks Performance.
