I took my 2014 Mustang in for rear brakes, a O2 sensor replacement and new plugs. When I dropped my car off, it sounded fine, other than the left rear brake rubbing, but when I went to pick up the car and started it, I immediately heard a ticking and r clicking sound in the engine, so I enquired at the front desk inside and was told, “Yeah, we noticed that when we brought it in to work on it.” To which I replied, it wasn’t making that noise when I brought it in. I asked “Did you check it out to find out what it is?” “Yeah but we couldn’t locate the source of the sound.” It has me wondering what happened to my car after I left it there? Why would they not do a deep dive to find out what it was rather than just brush it away? Why would they say it was making that sound when I know for a fact it wasn’t when I dropped it off? I have absolutely no confidence in their ability to perform diagnostic work or repair of a engine. Perhaps the issue lies in how they treat someone else's car when they take it out for a test drive after completing maintenance, especially if the car looks hot and has a 6 speed on the floor. Hey, but the brakes work fine.
