Wayne County Social Services

I have called the Wayne County Department of Social Services for the past 2 months to reach someone about changing my address insurance purposes. I have yet to receive a phone call. I do not know if this is a systemic problem with the department of social services statewide, but can someone explain to me why a building filled with what I assume to be college educated and/or professional employees of the STATE who claim to be human services professionals in service to the welfare of their neighbors and communities but yet who cannot answer the phone and do not return phone calls within the amount of time they say that they will? More importantly, why does any individual have to change their address with three separate entities -- the local department of social services, NC Medicaid Broker, and the actual insurance company? And how can anyone expect that address to be changed when Social Services is apparently the one responsible for facilitating the change when NO ONE will answer the phone or return calls? I have spoken with both the Broker and my insurance company -- both who cannot change the address until the local department of social service changes the address. This is worse than incompetence. This is irresponsible, unprofessional, and damn near criminally negligent. Shame, shame, shame! on the STATEWIDE department of social services.

They never have funding and they never help you. It seems like the ladies in there pick and choose who they want to help they only help their friends and families. I know some people who make way more than me that is getting all kinds of help when they walk out of this building. I guarantee if I was laying On my back popping out kid after kid with no income I will get so much help. Wayne county need to do better.

Today march the nineteenth I spoke to an operator named Shala(probably misspelled) She was the most calm and pleasant person. I've dealt within a very long time. She explained certain things to me. That I have been struggling with over the past. Well, well, since February, the 23rd to yesterday. I would like to thank ms. mooring as well for her kindness Tuesday, These 2 people made me feel a lot better about my circumstances and what I was going through. Sometime. S even when you're in your most busiest you can still being pleasant & detailed about your situation with social services. Everyone doesn't know protocol and a 1minute explaination works wonders. When you already stressed , taking a moment to think about others works wonders. I'm grateful. Thank you both. I know sometimes quantity is blined to quality. Be blessed all of you The calm ones And the stress ones have a beautiful day. I'm grateful for the balance. Sometimes we have to realize it's not about us but the process.
