Great staff and excellent curriculum. I have been taking my daughter here for 6 months and she is doing so much better with her reading than I could do at home. She is a pre-K and already reading like a kindergartener.

My parents brought me to have an orientation at this Kumon when I was in middle school because they were concerned about my B-level grades. I came reluctantly but with an open mind. But the orientation itself was such a humiliating and insulting experience that I still remember it to this day, six years later. After being lectured about the grandeur of Kumon as a multinational corporation, I was put on the spot to take a tedious exam of pedantic algebra problems, which I was, of course, unprepared to take. After the instructor John had added up my measly score, he called in my parents to lambast and shame me for my slow performance and then proceeded to ask me if I was in a 'special' math class at my school. When I told him that I was considering taking honors math next year, he laughed out loud. After that, I never came back. However, I did not just ignore that experience and repress it from my memory, I used it as motivation to prove John wrong. Throughout high school, I consistently took the most challenging classes that I could, math and others, and not only did I pass, I excelled. I am now an engineering student at a top Ivy League college, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank John for the inadvertently catalytic role he had in helping me get here. To future parents who may be reading this, I would strongly suggest that you look elsewhere if you are truly concerned about getting academic support for your child. And in conclusion, I would just like to emphasize that learning really is much more than just training students to be human-computers, which is what this organization appears to be doing, without regard for students' individual experiences.
