    I needed a root canal, which was NOT done properly a few years prior, so they needed to essentially fix the issue they never corrected to begin with. Well, I had to reschedule twice because I work retail - in short, they told me I couldn't come back because, even though I called ahead, I missed an appointment. They never mentioned such a big infraction would get me banned. Great people, just wonderful. It wouldn't be so bad if they were not the ONLY ENDO DOCTOR IN LANCASTER! The only one, it's ridiculous. It's probably for the best though - along with Mr. Balasco who acts like he is on some kind of speed medication, one of the dental assistants is a raging drug addict. Don't ask me how I know...AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

    Horrible receptionist answering calls. As a new client who was referred by my dentist. I called my dentist back to let them know I was placed on hold at first for over 10 minutes, then when the girl came back on the line she kept asking me to repeat myself and had me spell and repeat my dentist office name 3-4 times. I asked do you not do business with Merion Village Dental? She replied yes but they have like 10 drs. there... what in the world does that have to do with you not being able to correctly spell Merion or pronounce it? I asked if they had a Lancaster office she said yes. I said good I'll just call there because you obviously are having issues hearing me. Sure enough calling back I get her and her nasty attitude. She wanted to AGAIN place me on hold. When asking her how long it would be she replied " I don't know you hung up and now someone else called in". I hung up again called Merion Village Dental back told them what happened and they agreed that this was unacceptable and would possibly not be referring anyone else to this office. Don't waste your time if your considering this office. The receptionist has a bad attitude and is rude! I can only imagine the service this office thinks is acceptable if your receptionist is turning away new clientele, especially after a large dentistry in Columbus is referring their clients to you. Thanks for wasting about an hour of my day including to write this review because your receptionist is HORRIBLE. By the way I called Central Ohio Endodontics who immediately was able to assist me schedule me oh and more importantly knew exactly who my dentist office was. I'd say all in all in took about 5 minutes with them to schedule. How is it that I couldn't even talk to someone within 10 minutes of calling your office... Once again consider a new receptionist. I'm sure she'll need a new job after the money you lose due to customers turning away because she absolutely SUCKS! This is my first of many reviews to write by the way.

    My 12year old son was referred for an urgent root canal by our primary dentist for an infection. My son was called back from the waiting room and I naturally followed. However I was told by the attendant to wait in the waiting room as they were only getting an Xray. To make a long story short. Dr. Balasco completed a dental exam while I was in the waiting room without my permission. My son reported to me that it was extremely painful and he did not stop when he told him that was very painful. Once I was allowed back to the exam room Dr. Balasco went over the Xray and stated that he did not need an urgent root canal and that it could be done within a month or so. He did not want me present during the procedure but would make an exception and allow it after much persistence. The receptionist was very nice and scheduled a tentative appt. 9 days after consultation. My son was in extreme pain to the point that he had not ate in 3 days and was reporting cold chills. The following day I took him to a different endodontist and he required an emergent root canal on the spot!
