Elks Inn

I’m moving across country with an infant and dogs. I understand that I won’t be staying in the nicest room due to having pets. The first thing I noticed was that the hotel did not have a sign or anything advertising it. After checking my maps a few times I walked into the building I thought was the Elks inn. The girl at the front desk was very nice and said the hotel is being renamed, so I brushed it off. However the state of the room (101) I stayed in was terrible. The carpet was dingy, pulling away from the wall, numerous holes and stains. The walls and curtains were supposed to be off white and were marked with tons of stains. The lamp shade was ripped and broken. The bathroom wasn’t sanitary by any means. I was exhausted and just figured I’d deal with it. Upon trying to go to bed the light outside the bathroom would not turn off. Went out to the front desk, hallway reeked of cigarette smoke, and again the lady was very nice and moved me to the room next door (103). Pretty much the same thing as the first room, very old and dirty. Unless there is a nicer, newer wing of rooms the pictures are misleading. The breakfast cafe waitress was sweet but the wait for my food was about an hour to and hour and a half and it was mediocre at best. 10/10 would not recommend. It wasn’t cheap for one night and definitely not worth the money. Had it not been so late I would have left!
