image An excellent experience! Jeff and Mary Richards provided superb service. Communications were great. Jeff showed up on time and when he said he would. The work was excellent, and the price was very fair. He worked diligently on our old bathroom. Our house is about 130 years old, with a lot of work to be done. This job entailed taking out a toilet, replacing rotten hardwood floorboards and securing sound flooring. He did all of this in 1.5 days with very minimal disruption. The estimate was fair, and adhered to. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are also very nice and personable people!

image This company WILL NOT provide licensing and insurance information upon request even though they advertise it on their website and Facebook page. Mary, the "office manager" and wife, pressures you for payments, giving you no time to review what's being invoiced and gets nasty with you when you question absolutely anything. To be clear, we tried to be amicable with this company however, they duck and dodge the moment you find out what they're really doing. I never wanted to make this a public thing but they failed to address any of the situation or make any attempt to make it right. They only email me to suggest that I remove my review but respond to nothing else.
We hired Jeff to complete some work for us at our home in Oklahoma City an he said he had no problems at all with doing everything that we hired him for. Jeff had been paid two of the three installment payments and two change order payments...adding up to be a little over $43k. He didn't complete the work that he was paid for and what he did complete was shoddy work. He not only didn't do quality work but he also messed up existing items that otherwise wouldn't have needed replacing. We are spending well over $100k to fix the work that he did incorrectly and half-way. We were scheduled to meet with Jeff to go over the progress and were traveling from California to do so. 30 minutes before our scheduled meeting, he said he couldn't meet that day because he wasn't feeling well and his blood pressure was high. I sent an email to him asking for a conference call and to go over everything since we weren't able to meet. He flipped out and then his wife flipped out. The wife, Mary, told me that Jeff was ordered on bed rest and would not be available for several days. However our security cameras on the property caught him at the house moving our cameras to where he thought we wouldn't see or hear what he was doing over the next several days. He also unplugged and tampered with the actual security system itself. Unknown to him, I was able to still lock them out of the house and get the security system working again. All of the video footage of everything that he was saying and doing was processed on a backup server that he wasn't aware of. Jeff and Mary also kept materials of ours at their house that they never returned. They never refunded any of the money that they were overpaid. They state on their website and Facebook that they are licensed and insured however failed to provide any of that information upon request. They can't handle much of a work load at all let alone a simple request to add anything. Instead of saying that he doesn't want to do it, he will agree to it and just do it wrong because he is mad about it. But he'll still take your money for the changes. Mrs. Harding, it is unfortunate that in this review you advise that you were not happy with the work that Artisan Handyman did for you. We would love to post the screen shots of texts where you and your husband both rave about the work we were doing and how happy you were with the job at multiple junctures along the way. However, Google Review Replies do not allow pictures to be added, they are only text. You were in Oklahoma from California several times and commented on how well the job was going and how pleased you were, even commenting on the possibility of Artisan doing additional work for you at another property you were looking to purchase in that same area. The additional invoices for add-ons were for additional work/repairs completed, not for work in progress. If you had been unhappy with the work that was invoiced for, we are wondering why you paid the invoices. You were informed all along the way, receiving pictures, along with FaceTime calls showing you both progress and additional damage that was found as Artisan got into the job. When informed of any additional damage etc., Artisan Handyman never made the decision to move forward with additional repairs without your input, decisions, and approvals. Artisan Handyman did not do any additional work without your prior approval. We did not “flip out” as you stated. As a matter of fact, you had an almost 30 minute very civil conversation with Mary, ending with the goal of moving forward and working through your direction. Rather than waiting for confirmation of that, you chose to lock Artisan out of the house the following day. Artisan did not walk away from the job, so anything that was not completed was because Artisan was not given the opportunity to complete the job. Jeff was not at your property on the days he was on rest, so we are not sure what you are talking about. There were multiple days when the security system acted up or was unplugged due to electrical work in the house. We have screen shots of texts regarding this, including where the security system had to be rebooted. Virgil even asked Jeff to check on the security system on 6/30/23, and Jeff rebooted it. Jeff then asked if it was better to which Virgil responded, “Yes sir”. The pictures you posted with your review are simply showing work in progress, so not sure what the issue was/is. Artisan Handyman worked in conjunction with you to fulfill to the best of our ability the job you hired us to do. Artisan Handyman did not choose to walk away from your job.

image My experience was outstanding, in all aspects of the business. Even during a very busy time, they found time to do my job. The technician they sent, Tim, was so kind and gracious and did a wonderful job quickly. I can't say enough good things about them. Mary, who was my main contact was so helpful through everything. I will definitely use them again and recommend them highly. They are reasonably priced as well. Service: Plumbing fixture installation
