Whoever wrote the review about the film industry buying Picher Ok and making movies. They have NO idea how the movie business works. It requires a vast infrastructure of equipment, crew and support services. None are in Picher OK!

I hate to see a town that became rich and destroyed by the very thing that it was built upon. Picher, OK would have been a perfect place for a film studio to buy out to film independent/Hollywood movies. Yet it'll be quite the investment to maintain and build upon the houses and neighborhood; if I had the money I would have bought it out as the movie industry is a billion dollar industry, so there's chances that you could have made all the money back that you invested in the small town of Picher, OK.
