Hood CPA is very frustrating to work with. The communication is almost non-existent. I feel very much like a number with them. They never know what it is I'm calling about (if they answer the phone). Today I couldn't get anyone to answer my calls. It's definitely not the same kind of service we were used to especially for what they charge.

Last year I used this firm, due to the reviews I read, and they are in my area. I met with a young male at their office went over all the information, was told it would be about 4 weeks before they could get to them, and if it was OK to do an extension, and I agreed. This time had passed and no contact from the Hood office. I called and was told they have not started it yet and would be in touch with me. More time had passed, no call from them. I called again, told the same. I was finally contacted by them, it was someone different, not who I spoke with, (I only had a window of time in the morning to speak with them until 9:30am, due to my job, during the week, so I did most of my conversation with them thru email) and no Extension was filed. I was told the late fee would be paid for my Hood. It was the end of June 2022 when my taxes were finished, and they sent me a bill for the total amount, which is wrong, they had to deduct the late fee, and that took more weeks to be corrected. I, not knowing the rules of IRS was charged a huge fee due to I owed them money. I was not explained this from the start, that is why I turned to someone for help, and I would have thought they would have been more informative to me about things. I would think twice before using the Sand Springs office again.

Here is a copy of my last email to Hood and Associates. Their concept of the business is quite good but the execution of that concept is very, very poor. The frustration that I expressed here occurred throughout our entire time at Hood.
"During our last meeting, you or perhaps someone else at the table said that we needed to get an S-Corp election on Pams business and that you would take care of it. That was never done. We have called multiple times about this and the people that we talk to seem genuinely ignorant about the whole process. One lady was trying to help us set up an LLC.
I expressed frustration about this sort of thing at our meeting and was assured that things would be handled properly. There have been no noticeable improvements from my perspective.
To cancel a meeting only a couple of days before due to a deadline is completely unacceptable. This has happened twice now. These meetings are important to us and we rearranged our schedule and postponed an out of town trip in order to attend the meeting. I expect the same sort of dedication from the professionals that we employ. I have no idea what this deadline actually is but your actions really speak to a lack of professional planning and consideration.
On another note, I have found Jody Williams to be quite helpful. We needed to import some things from QB to QB online and she handled that quite well and in a timely manner."
