We had a lovely stay and they were sensitive to our limitations regarding diet.

My wife and I come to Cottage Grove to visit my Mom and we usually stay at the Best Western. Never again - the Apple Inn B&B is wonderful! It costs a bit more then the motels, but it is worth every penny. The room was neat and clean, the food was wonderful, but the new friends we made with Kathe and Harry were the best part. I can not recommend this B&B enough!

I booked a room at the Apple Inn to surprise my husband for our anniversary. I booked it last minute and was not sure what to expect, but wanted to get away and did not want to be "in town." I was also compelled by the hot tub, and by the fact that it was not too far from the freeway. We could not have been more pleased. The setting is beautiful. The host, Kathy, is exttremely hospitable and could not had made us feel more welcome! We had delicious cupcakes waiting for us after we went out for dinner, in our room. Cottage Grove is a cute, smaller town with its own character. She has a green thumb and I jotted down the names of several beautiful plants while we were there. There were really soft bathrobes hanging in the closet and the breakfast was not only filling, but delicious with a lot of variety. The house is very nicely decorated and makes you feel special. The hosts clearly put a lot of time and thought into making it just right. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone, and I hope we get to comeback soon. I am excited at the possibility since it's only about 45 minutes from where we live. My only complaint is that we didn't have time to stay longer! I hope to be back soon! I couldn't think of anything we were not pleased with.

Having never been to a Bed and Breakfast, I think this one leaves big shoes for the next one to fill. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Apple Inn for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The Apple Inn is incredibly well priced for everything you get, in a great location close to Cottage Grove and I-5 yet secluded, and a unique find in general. The owner Kathe made us feel right at home, showing us to our quaint "Tree House" room, equipped with luxurious robes, neck warmers, cozy socks, snacks, drinks, satellite TV, and a bathroom with an old fashioned claw footed tub and bath oils. She immediately provided us with homemade maps of the covered bridges in the area, recommended places to eat and go out, and offered information for wine tasting and outdoor activities. In the evening she left cookies in our room, and upon request brought out her and her husband's two dogs into the common area where we were enjoying board games, television and snacks. In the morning the breakfast was phenomenal, but more importantly we continued socializing with not only Kathe, but the guests in the other room downstairs. In the afternoon we hiked through some of their 270 acres to a lovely vista looking northwest into the Willamette Valley. We left feeling refreshed, extremely satisfied with our experience at the Apple Inn, and with the notion to spread the word about this cozy place!

Looking for a quick cycling adventure get away from the busyness of Portland, we frolicked to a Middle Earth like setting to this quaint shire corner of Cottage Grove. We were met at the door with a wonderfully warm hospitality greeting from the host and hostess, putting us into an instant bucolic mood. Looking around, we immediately found ourselves in a very peaceful forested setting, meticulously well groomed landscaped homestead with many floral items to see and creatures to look for. Rooms are cozy with thoughtful appointments that were peppered throughout for the curious to see. As a hobbit's desire to relish of sorts, during our short one day visit, my wife and I felt the stresses of Portlandia melting away with the enjoyment "fellowship of the ring" of Harry and Kathe Take advantage of the "tour de forest" with Harry and explore a nested gold nugget of Oregon. Don't be surprised to hear some folklore and having conversational fun if that is your desire. Evening snacks and the smell of morning breakfast replaces your anticipated alarm clock ritual for a gentle awakening and with anticipation of what next there is to see and have. Freshly roasted and brewed coffee awaited us with a grand morning smile from the caring takers that work so well together in harmony. As a result our anticipation of a grand breakfast experience, allowed our imagination to get ahead of us. Indeed, we were not to be disappointed, finding well portioned courses of delectably prepared gourmet styled food. We came to a conclusion that the breakfast would not of tasted as grand without the presence of Harry and Kathe's warm hearts anticipating our next serving needs throughout the "spread". Of course we were not to be disappointed without a topping off of our beverage of choice. We are sure if we were to ask for second breakfast or even elevenses, they would have found a way to accommodate! We left refreshed, our bellies filled, and a gathering of fond memories to pass on to friends and sojourners. One word of caution; consider bringing loosely fitted shoes. Upon leaving, we found our feet a little larger and hairier....mmmm....could it be the wonderfully tasting fizzy water that comes from their well?!
