I have a lengthy review, recapping my experience with Elgin Family Dental. I'll start with the most important part, DO NOT let this man fill your teeth. I first made an appointment for my wife and I because we had saved up enough cash to get our wisdom teeth pulled (my wife went through the same issues, so I'll just give my story. He was insistent on getting 2 cleanings done and filling my molars on all sides of my mouth, though they gave me no issues at the time, I trusted his judgement because he seemed professional. Now, my teeth hurt when I eat almost anything, even milk or cold juice make my teeth cringe. My wife has a very similar story. The only employees I thought were great were the assistants, they would actually give me time to answer questions/concerns and were work orientated. The ladies at the counter however, consistently screw up the scheduling. My wife got a call at one point for an appointment we never made, and they insisted they told us we had one. I had called them the day before an appointment to verify that things were in the clear (back when the corona lockdowns first started) and they had told me I was never scheduled, while I was looking at the appointment slip they had handed me the previous month with an exact time and date on it (my wife has a similar experience there as well). The final time was when I had an overlapping appointment with my daughter and I on the same day, that was scheduled 4 months out, and they called me days before the appointment to reschedule because the dentist wouldn't be there. So either they didn't check his schedule when they set up the appointment, or he didn't care about the work he had scheduled when he took time off. Either way, that was the last straw for me. Main takeaway from my experience, these people are only interested in getting you in and out as quickly as possible, and to bill your insurance for anything they can. Actually health of your teeth is a very low priority for them.
