If I could give zero stars I would. I had a reservation on Sept 8th 2021 for a 1 night tent site at this KOA. On this date there was multiple forest fires with thick smoke blanketing the whole area. There was a public health alert. For our health and safety we had to cancel and not stay inside a tent in that KOA and inhale toxic smoke all night. The proper thing to do for the sake of decency and costumer service would have been to at least give me a full refund to our reservation because of the obvious health hazard, yet that was denied to us. I was simply told by Anita of the KOA that they don’t do refunds, and that its my choice and too bad for me. I have stayed at multiple KOA’s and would have expected decent customer service, instead I had to pay for a reservation that would have harmed the health of me and my group of campers. I called the day before and this KOA made it sound as though the smoke only came in occasionally, but the screenshot pictures of the air radar I took that night shows clearly that the whole area the KOA is in is a public health hazard. I guess keep my money first, then customer safety isn’t relevant after that.
