We are so pleased with the work that Alex and the guys from Sequoia Stonescapes did in planning and building a retaining wall on our very steep hillside. They showed up on time, were respectful of our plants, and did excellent work! I would highly recommend Sequoia for their professionalism and awesome work.

What a classy operation. They show up, they’re all wearing uniforms, the vehicles are all branded and you feel like you’re dealing with professionals, and that’s because you are. The price was fair and the work was awesome. We look forward to doing additional work besides just the landscape lighting that they’ve done so far. In addition, whenever I have a question the owner responds immediately, and it’s obvious that he really cares, not just about the job they do, but about his company and his staff.

Sequoia Stonescapes completed a courtyard and driveway paving project for us. They were able to reuse some of the old cracked concrete as material for a retaining wall to level out our front yard. We are very satisfied with the result and added value to our home. The crews were timely and professional even in the face of changes to the project. We would hire them again and recommend their work.

This is a lengthy review. It’s worth the read if you are considering investing in creating something new and wonderful for your outdoor living space. Alex Peters brings a very high level of professionalism and raises the bar for all contractors. From the first contact to the last, our experience with Alex was by far the best contractor relationship we have seen over numerous home-improvement excursions for several homes. What makes Alex so good? • Alex’s continued communication with clients is exceptional. At a time when we hear how everyone “working” is so busy, Alex makes the time to communicate with his clients. • Alex is very well organized. This aspect of his business and follow-though are unquestionable and very impressive. • Alex has a very high bar for craftsmanship, workmanship, and design. His educated design-eye is keen, professional, and flexible. • Alex takes pride in his work and treats people with respect. Our stonescape is gorgeous. Here’s how it started and played out: 1. A landscaping professional gave us Alex’s business card when we mentioned the idea of making our backyard more “inviting”. 2. We emailed Alex. He responded in less than 24 hours. 3. We talked and he told us up-front that there would be a wait before he was available to do the job. If we were willing to wait, he’d listen to our needs and ideas and put together a drawing and a plan. We agreed to wait. 4. Promptly, Alex put together a drawing and asked for our input. We responded and gave him feedback. 5. Again, promptly, Alex continued working the drawing, incorporating our feedback, and put together a plan. 6. We met and agreed to proceed, knowing the timetable was fluid. 7. As time passed, we occasionally emailed Alex to check on the timetable. He always responded promptly and politely. 8. When the potential for the “start of the job” time approached, Alex contacted us and confirmed that we were getting close. We met. Alex revisited the plan drawings, marked out the design on our lawn, and pointed out numerous details. 9. The job started when Alex said it would. He also correctly estimated the time it would take to complete the project, and the costs incurred. 10. Alex met with us at the job’s completion to make sure we understood any future maintenance concerns and all other details related to the project.
