Willamette Dental Group - Portland - Weidler - Closed

Substandard. They failed to schedule any visits for my dental care, and then when I called to schedule a visit they said my dentist no longer worked there and they refused to schedule me with a different one. I had to go with a different location, which mentioned that the Weidler location is shutting down, though there has been no announcement of that to patients.

I went in with a tiny tiny little chip (not noticeable) in my front tooth and asked if it needed to be smoothed down for my enamel. The dentist then shaved off a quarter of my top front tooth. He then asked if he should continue so he could add a cap (terrified and shocked I said yes because I was now missing a giant chunk of front tooth) and continued to drill off the bottom half of my front tooth. The cap he added was not color matched and rough and very obvious. I left shaking and angry and in panic mode. As the assistant escorted to pay, she said something along the lines of "I knew he was gonna do that when you didn't need all that" to which I asked her why she didn't say something. I had loved going to the dentist and now I am absolutely terrified of it. I have no cavities and take great care of my teeth and now have only half a front tooth because he didn't feel like he should explain what he was doing to me beforehand (I would have obviously said no). I went to the Jefferson location and the dentist there fixed it and was very disappointed and said that he shouldn't have done that and tried her best to remedy the situation. I, still however, only have half a real front tooth with a cap that could fall off at any point that I will need to pay to upkeep because of this absolutely horrific dental experience.

It’s impossible to make an appointment at their locations in any kind of timely manner. Either they are too busy or just don’t have enough doctors. You can’t just make an appointment when you walk out. You have to wait for an email and then call and then it’s another 3-4 months out. That’s incredibly inefficient. Their entire system is too corporate. They sold me a mouthwash that got recalled a year ago and I never got a refund because you can’t ever talk to anyone about it. You have to send an email to a specific address and they never responded. Twice. This was my first and only year using them as my insurance plan.

I am really annoyed by how they have you make appointments here . Every other dentist office I've ever gone to has allowed me to make my next cleaning appointment on my way out but this place just sends you an email reminder when its time and then you have to call to make an appt. I just had to wait on hold for 15 minutes instead of taking 2 minutes on my way out of the office. Newsflash: modern computers have no problem scheduling things 6 months out.

This is one of the few OHP dentists in the area and they could care less about their patients because they know we have no choice about where we can get dental work done. I started procedures 18 months ago to have my teeth replaced with dentures. Due to consistent staff layover I've been unable to get anything done. I'm left with about 8 teeth and they don't have an oral surgeon on staff to see me to finish my work. I've lost 25 pounds because I can't eat. They won't contact me even if they read this review because they care about money, not patients.
