Drew Gilbert is kind, helpful and informative. My family and I really appreciated the excellent, professional and compassionate service that Drew and his staff, provided for us with our mom's funeral. I truly recommend his services.

I really didn't want to have to leave a review but I feel as though I have been left with no option. My father passed away on 12/18 and Gilbert Funeral Home was chosen for his cremation. Drew called me and said that my father's friend, as well as his girlfriend wanted to take possession of the ashes. I told him that I did not approve of this. Drew stated that if they did not get possession of the ashes, that they were not going to pay for the services rendered. I told him that was not a problem. A few days later I drove to the funeral home and spoke with Drew. He sat down with my uncle and I for a while to discuss how he knew my father from school and the crazy stuff that my father's friend and girlfriend were trying to pull. The total cost for cremation, urn, and 10 death certificates (his recommended amount) came to $1,750.00. I paid on 12/21 via debit card and was told that once the cremation was done I could come pick up the ashes. Drew also recommended me an attorney (the one he uses) to possibly represent me in the likely upcoming legal battle. A week or so later I received a phone call that the ashes and death certificates were ready for pickup. It was later in the day already so I told him I would be there the following day. Drew also told me that the death certificates gave me the right to legally enter my father's house. The next morning I drove three hours to the funeral home where I was told that my father's crazy girlfriend had been emailing and calling him threatening to sue him and ruin his business is she did not get possession of the ashes. Drew's attorney advised him to not give me possession of my father's ashes. He gave me the death certificates and I proceeded to my father's house where I was subsequently arrested for trespassing by the local town cops. Several weeks later I gave Drew a call and asked if he would please refund me for the services rendered since he was still in possession of the ashes and I now needed to pay for a criminal defense attorney due to his legal advise. He stated that he wouldn't refund me and that I would be paid back from my father's estate once everything is settled. Had I know that the remains would not have been release to me like my uncle and I had been told multiple times, I would have not paid for his services and let whoever is handling the estate do so.
