The Feathered Hook

I had not visited the Feathered Hook for many years. At that time the first owner and his wife ran the business and were professional and respectful people. I stopped at the store this year (2023) at the end of May during the green drake hatch. I went into the store and found that the store had a new owner. The new owner was sitting near the door inside the store. He was playing the comedian, making funny remarks about some of the customers. His lack of respect for others and zero professional behavior was appalling. Later I regret that I did not leave the store immediately and regret having spent a few dollars there. I will never visit this store again and I strongly advise other people not to do it. Since I needed additional fishing supplies, I asked other fisherman about stores nearby. I found out that 25 minutes away, at State College, were two fishing stores infinitely better than the Feathered Hook: TCO Fly Shop and Flyfisher’s Paradise. They had great supplies, excellent guiding, and stores where you are treated professionally, with respect and you did not have to suffer a….owner.

This is a GREAT Fly Shop!!! From the Owner, Jonas Price to the entire inside Shop Personal, to the Guides Aston, Matt and Tess, this is a very "Well Oiled Machine"!!! I would highly recommend using their Guides as they are Top Notch!!! They are Excellent at there " Trade"!!! I have fished over 6 different times with the Guides!! I had a Fantastic trip each and every time. My last trip I caught over 34 Trout!!! My advice would be, UTILIZE The Guides!!!! They know there home waters!!!
