Greg and his team delivered as promised with QUALITY WORKMANSHIP, on Time and on Budget. The Whole Team was professional, talented, thorough and a pleasure to work with. The team's meticulous attention to detail and level of expertise went above and beyond our expectations. They were able to incorporate our entire wish list into the design and we are so happy with how smoothly the project went. We love our 3 Remodeled Bathrooms and our new roof. Greg and his team always get the job done well, in a timely fashion, and with excellent communication. Greg tells it like it is, offers realistic solutions and pricing options for projects ranging from a full on home addition, to roofing, siding, and insulation, to bathroom remodels, to just fixing electric, plumbing, or other items around the house. Kay Home Improvements replaced our windows and siding in early 2021. The workers were very professional, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves every day. Reasonable pricing in the proposal and no surprises during the job means the original price stayed the same to the end of the job. Neighbors stop by all the time to tell us how great the house looks. Greg Kay and his team are highly recommended by us!

Kay Home Improvement
I'll start my review of Kay Home Improvement with my roof (see photo). When I asked them why on earth they were patching the roof with a different color, I was told that was the closest match they could find. I laughed, because I knew they really meant the closest match out of the leftover shingles from other jobs. They were comfortable having my roof look like this in order to save fifty bucks. Plus, their sign was in the front yard. This is the quality of work they're willing to show the world that they do.
So what's happening under the surface? Plenty. When they walked off the job (more on that later), they were in the middle of redoing a room that hadn't been touched for 60 years. It was gutted, then new studs, new electrical fixtures, and about 20% of the new sheet rock went in. When I brought in another contractor to finish the job, I learned that I had to start from scratch, because it was done neither to code, nor with a permit (so far I've resisted the urge to rat them out to the township). But here's the clincher. They left 60 year old wire behind the new sheet rock. It was the kind that had a sort of cloth covering, which was frayed and decaying. Kay Home Improvement, if you're reading this, seriously? When faced with this one time opportunity, you opted to leave this fire hazard in my house, jeopardizing the safety of my family and me? To save what, $100? This is beyond all justification.
They installed a $35,000 heating and air system, which 18 months later is on the blink. These things happen. Well, Kay Home Improvement won't allow their subcontractor to fix it. They won't allow the gentleman to honor his warranty. I have no comment here, it speaks for itself.
And finally, one day their plumber unplugged the basement sump pump, and forgot to plug it back in. Okay, everyone makes mistakes. Kay looked around for about five seconds, and flat out denied responsibility. I thought later that in those five seconds they might have been looking around for a security camera. Smart. Anyway, we had a spat, they demanded payment of their current bill, which I gave them, and they walked off the job. I sued them, but quickly dropped it when I realized I had no chance. Again, they were smart to keep denying it, knowing I couldn't prove it. But this is what Kay Home Improvement is about. Cut every corner, finesse every dollar, and deny every action.
