I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter. This past Thursday 6/7/2018 I placed a call to an agent working for R Ryon realty in Pottsville PA asking for an appointment to see the inside of a home that was for sale. My daughter was recently told it was more an investment property than a house to live in as it had a strong smell of animal urine and that all carpets would have to be removed. My daughter said "no problem" She loved the house, she loved the location, she loved that it was a very short distance from her parents home. I called the agent involved in this sale on Thursday 6/7/2018 to make arrangements to see the inside of this home, the agent even though I couldn't understand anything he said he did agree to show us the house on Saturday 6/09/2018 around noon because my daughter works the night shift and doesn't get home till 5:00AM, she is usually gone 12 hrs. Friday came and went, Friday evening, I sent a reminder email to the agent to not forget about showing us the house around noon on Saturday, I got no reply, yet he had my phone # from caller ID. Saturday comes my daughter is bursting with excitement that she is finally going to see her dream house. Myself, & daughter and a close friend of ours went to the location of the house to wait for the agent to show up. After a 45min wait with no one showing up, she sent him a text msg only to find out the sale was off, someone else got to it. My question is this, why did this agent set up a showing of the house, he had to know there was a bid placed on it at the time of my call. Why then didn't he give my daughter a chance to either match the offer or go higher as I would assume she would have done because this was her "DREAM HOME", she would have either matched or went higher than the previous bid but she was denied that chance. Her heart is broken in a million pieces. This agent had to know on Thursday when I called him that there might have been something in the works, why did he not mention it to me so my daughter could have upped the bid because she wanted it so badly. My daughter was treated very unfairly with regards to the purchase of this home. It was going to be the first home she ever bought, her dream home but all that was taken away from her because of the lax of intelligence of the agent in charge. I also called the previous day about this home but my call was never returned. This could not have happened overnight, this agent saw $$$$$$$ signs and that's all he needed. I hope this helps future 1st time home buyers, beware of the agent involved because he will not treat you fairly. My daughter was denied the chance of bidding on the house of her dreams which probably will never come by again. It was in the exact perfect location, not far from her mom and dad & brother, it had a walking path near it for her to walk her dog, it had the perfect size yard, everything about this house in her mind was perfect, so it needed some tlc, what home doesn't????? My daughter was denied that chance because of a lazy non caring agent who just wanted the sale over and done with. He could have made more money had he listened to me. Or better yet look at his phone, I'm sure he has caller ID, he could have informed me what was going on Thursday night instead he chose to send us an email @ 8:30 Saturday 3 and one half hrs before the showing to tell us it is off the market. I hope the people at Century 21 Ryon Real Estate cleans up the status of their agents because the one that handled this lost them a bundle. If I could report this agent further, I would. I can only hope they have a conscience and give her the chance to place a bid on this property. If not, do not deal with R Ryon Real Estate/Century 21 in Pottsville PA, they don't care, and that is the truth.
