Had my mower fixed here, 3 days later it wouldn't start. I paid $160 for him to change the relay..He said he would come by to take a look at it and didn't. I ended up getting a new lawnmower instead of dealing with him. My only regret was not reading these reviews before going to him.

January 3, 2014 I am writing this review in the hopes of keeping others from being taken advantage of by this business. A year ago, during winter, we tried to have our snow blower repaired. We were told that a part needed to be ordered. Three weeks later, we had not heard from them. When we called them (as they never called us) we were told that the part might take a few more weeks to arrive and, by the way, they could sell us a reconditioned snow blower for a great price. We said we'd wait for the part as we couldn't afford a "new" snow blower. The one we were trying to repair was given to us. Several more weeks passed and no word from Mike's. We called-oh, the part is still not in. By this time, it is the end of February. We ask if they could just bring back the snow blower (we don't own a truck) as winter is all but over. They say sure. They never returned our snow blower. They just kept it...all year. We had to call them about six weeks ago to remind them that they still have our snow blower from last year...and, oh, is the part it yet? They told us the part was now "not available" and that they could SELL us a reconditioned one for the difference in price between our un-repaired unit and their reconditioned unit...A MERE $250 dollars! They had us, we had no choice. The "new" snow blower arrived several weeks ago. We tried to use it several hours ago and a part fell off in my husband's hand as he started it. It does not work. My husband called Mike's and they said they'd "have some one come down to take a look." I called back to find out when they'd be coming; I was afraid we'd never see or hear from them...once again. When I called, I was told that I should "Give my husband his balls back and have him call instead." WOW! Please do not do business with this establishment. You will be taken advantage of. They took us for $250 and likely were able to fix our original snow blower and pawn it off as reconditioned on some other unsuspecting victim.

Stemming from a listing on Craigslist for a Terramite backhoe I am selling I got a call from Mikes Small Engine in Harrisville, Rhode Island. According to my caller ID The first question asked was if the Terramite was still for sale. I told the caller I had taken a deposit. He asked what I got for it I told him I would not answer that question..Then the caller asked in a demanding tone what was my bottom price. I told him I would not tell him. Still being insistent, in a much louder angry voice, he decided to tell me that it was worth about 60% of what I had it listed for. ( Lets face it I already had a contract to sell the item at a price that was agreeable to both myself and the buyer. Who does this guy think he is or I am??????) I told the caller to "jump in a lake" and while he was still shouting something at me I hung up on him!!!! To me this was an attempt by him to bully me to either answer his questions or to somehow try to intimidate me into selling him my machine at a price he could make a profit from. (That was my impression but who am I to know what was on his mind?? Maybe he was just trying to do me a favor and EDUCATE me??) I have had many bottom feeders ( I am not calling this loudmouth sounding, bully a bottom feeder but he might be I just don't know For all I know he just might be a saint or a philanthropist? ) call me to inquire about various things I have sold over the years most of these people are clumsy and obviously foolish. My impression of the caller was that of someone who was ruthless and intimidating when and if he were allowed to have his way. But what do I know? Only what I have heard and said.
