The Yellow Kittens

Was very disappointed with the food here - my chicken burrito bowl had no flavor…Chipotle does a better job. What restaurant claiming to be a mexican restaurant doesn’t even have pico de gallo?! Had to ask for salt and was suggested the green hot sauce which I didn’t know costs extra. Couldn’t even finish half of my bowl and went around the corner to the grocery store to cleanse my palate.

We went to The Yellow Kittens twice during our week-long stay on Block Island, and both times, we had a good experience. We sat outside on the deck. First time we shared a large nachos platter with brisket. It was quite good, but I was surprised it had bits of pineapple on it - maybe part of the salsa fresca? My husband picked off the pineapple but I liked it. Second time I had their taco salad with brisket. It was delicious and their brisket is tender. So look, this is a local joint with no pretense, folks, and the silverware and cups are plastic. If you're looking for upscale and more gourmet, go to the Oyster Bar and Grill at the Manassis Hotel.

HORRIBLE service. Worst waitresses we've encountered in a long time. Maybe time to find a new job. Food was good but it's been better.
