Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It's not easy to come from out of town and hear all the great things about Newport's restaurants. I understand this is a seafood town with plenty of options . When the options are minimal, the focus on other offerings should be done just as well. An Autumn salad with no cranberries and too much cheese. A Fish could taste and appear as "If" it was Fish. My partner ordered "King Salmon", with the explanation (after ordering ) of coming from AUS and producing both farm raised and wild caught? Be honest, It was farm raised at 45!!$ many of us have had farm raised, This had no texture, depth and flavor was minimal. A souffle can beat this. A few of the best cuts of beef had sold out. I guess they didn't want to disappoint the fact that "Real King Salmon" wasn't available. So a blender version was created. My portion of a chicken leg was just above a Cornish G. Hen. I Hop, can offer better..seriously. Slightly dry, wasn't overpowering in the glaze with mash potato and apples..nothing to upset the stomach but hadn't challenge the pallet either. We had a nice table for 4. Once our food came out by a server, our waiter came to quickly refill the water; we hadn't tasted our meal yet. He became a Ghost for 30 mins +. We did ask questions and explained our dissatisfaction with the salmon. Of course no offer given. Restaurants know what they are doing!!..hoping you won't send back plates to complain that the food was worth 17.99 at best. The "King Salmon 0.00; as it wasn't palatable ..so it's a risk.. Upon exit ..an experienced guest stated ..22 Bowen's is known for steaks. Which is fine! Just don't... don't create plates of food that aren't enjoyable. One vegan plate of vegetables? Vegan has come much farther than that. There is no creativity here.. We won't suggest here this place. it's Bland. ..happy to tell others, don't bother. We pray other establishments here in Newport, can plate better...there are plenty of options.

Super steak. Good quality service. Crab cake appetizer is great.
