Poor workmanship, Did not stand behind his work, Superficial politeness, try to sell us unnecessary staff. Our house is on well water. On April, 2020 and after 18 years of reliable service, the 1.5hp submersible well pump went out. Our builder used a company from Florence when the house was built. we could not find the company's info, so we found Sutton Pump from google. And they replaced the pump, pipes, etc. In the evening of Dec. 13, 2022, water stopped when my son was about finishing shower. There were 240V to the pump after checking using multimeter. The pressure switch was in good order. We cut off the power to the pump. Next morning, we called Mr. Sutton. They pulled the pump out. it appeared that the 1" PVC pipe joint failed. It is clearly poor workmanship. We understand that things happens. However, there is no "I am sorry". Here are some his "reasonings" for the failure. 1. Well tanks is too old. The bladder set pressure should be 38psi while was measured at 26psi. ( 26psi will make tank draw down to 6.4 Gal vs. 9.4gal at 38psi. And how was it related to pipe joint failure?) 2. There is sand in the well. He did see some sand in water filter (how will this be relevant?) 3. Water hammering (previous pipe joints lasted more 18 years) 4. Pump is over heating and heated up the joint (this joint is about 26 ft above the pump with 20gal per min of cool well water flowing pass it as coolant) 5. water leaked back the pump and need a back flow valve (?? Well pump has build in back flow valve and water tank pressure did not drop in the tank when not water was used) Yes, he charged us the full amount. In addition, he did not take the back flow valve off from the bill. The reason -he has to used extralong coupling to reconnect the PVC pipes (Sounded like he was planning to use the shorter couplings !) After they left, we were surprised to see what is under the well cover-a total mess of "pipe insulation", no seals on wire cable entrance hole, etc...
