We stayed at the Harbor Resort & Marina building. Regardless of their rate $, this hotel is a sad reflection of what was once a solid resort. The entire facility showed signs of maintenance neglect from old worn carpets to cracked and missing trim to paint which has long been needing of attention. The staff was pleasant but it would appear that ownership does not care that they've taken a wonderful building/facility and run it into the ground. The bones are there, but the entire building requires an overhaul. This was our 3rd stay here and will be our last until ownership decides they want to truly present a "resort" atmosphere.

The location is awesome. But thats it. The queen superior room has 2 beds and a bath with small balcony. Thats it. For the price its not worth it. Ive had better rooms with all the amenities (I.e., kitchen, couch, sitting area, etc.) for a LOT less money with comparable locations. And neighbors slamming doors early in the morning make the stay even worse. I do not recommend this hotel/resort. Two thumbs down.

There may have been a time when this hotel was great, that time has now past. Summary: 1. Great location 2. Nice amenities 3. Cramped and dirty room 4. Broken or damaged fixtures 5. Dated styling 6. Overpriced The best part of this hotel is the location, located next to Patriots Point and minutes from downtown it has great views of the harbor, ocean, large pool deck, and decent pools but everything is just worn out. The interior hallways are nicely light and decorated but the beauty stops there. We had a room for two kids and two adults with double beds on the fourth floor conveniently located above the loading dock. The room has thick crown moulding, large built-in cabinets with a lighted display cabinet and flat screen TV all of which probably looked great on paper but in reality makes it feel cramped. The bathroom is tucked away behind a pocket door which is barely functional and requires a certain amount of strength to operate properly. The bathroom is small, with a pedestal sink, no counter top, standard tub and toilet. The "counter space" is provided by a small ledge beneath the mirror which if you are lucky is hanging straight, ours was not. The water in the shower was hot, that was the highlight, the drain was broken and you had to remove the stopper so the tub would not fill with water while showering, the fixtures were loose and poorly caulked (a generous description) and the water pressure was more on the aggressive dribble side. The bath featured no vent fan so the cramped space quickly filled with steam. The baseboards which again were, thick and stylish, were full of scratches, missing paint and dust, lots and lots of dust. The closet has "built in" shelves and are not as nice looking as you would think, it also features a light that turns on when you open the door however once you see the condition of the walls, baseboard and ceiling you will probably want the light off. Oddly enough no luggage rack, standard in almost every hotel. The built-in cabinet in the room featured four large corner shelves whose purpose remained a mystery. They were too small to store large luggage, wrong place for toiletries, or shoes so maybe snacks and drinks? It also featured a locked glass cabinet with various decorative items like a vase, picture and about six sea shells. I think this is to offer an artistic touch but it now looks empty and out of place. The room had a non-functional sliding glass door, It was not clear if it was broken or if they no longer wanted you to open it but it did feature ample white paint on the screen, clearly broken handle and a wire sticking out of the frame which someone had nicely capped off with electric tape. The only other seating in the room was a chair that was part of the built-in desk (scratch and dirty desk) and an upholstered chair crammed in between the bed and exterior wall, it did a good job holding my phone. Obviously someone, many, many, years ago, went to a lot of effort to make this look nice but it is so dated and poorly maintained that it just looks sad and run down. There are probably nicer rooms at the hotel and maybe a renovation is coming soon but if you are going to offer sub-standard accommodations then adjust the price accordingly. Rooms: The rooms are small, dated, damaged and dirty.
