Terrible experience!! I am a new business owner in Lenoir City (but own 4 other businesses in Blount County) and I walked in and was not greeted friendly at all. I was just told the price to join as if it was a deterrent to even consider being a part of the chamber. I said OK...what are the benefits of joining and was told that it was out of my price range at $175...hmmm...I was then led down the hall to Sandy's office and she said first thing that it was "at least $200 to join plus a $25 processing fee"...very rude...all of this and no words about what they can do, what they can provide, etc. They kept steering me towards an online payment if I wanted to join and I said I was happy paying right there. No one wanted my money at all. I left after that and I called the President of the chamber the following day. He called and I explained everything to him and he said he would get back to me. I missed his call first thing this morning and he has not reached back out on my call. I have dropped 6 figures into my business in Lenoir City and to be treated this way is weird to say the least. Rodney Grugan is president of the chamber and I would not give them one single dime for service like this. I am not trying to join a social club rather I am trying to integrate into a community where I bring tax dollars and revenue. Fun to be part of the circle of small minds I suppose but at some point one would think about what funds you and what you do. Rodney...wake up man and talk to the people that are trying to help you grow. Bless your heart and good luck doing you!!
