R Harris A/C & Heating

I used R Harris for some repairs through American Home Shield. From the very beginning they were extremely responsive, and even booked me for an appointment first thing Monday morning, after I reached out AHS on Friday afternoon. Their tech Larry came out, and diagnosed the problem. He answered all my questions and was very polite and knowledgeable. They came back a few days later and completed the repairs. They were very thorough, punctual, and even waited around to fit my schedule. After doing the repairs, they waited around to test everything before leaving. They even cleaned up the area, so no trash was left behind. I would highly recommend this company. Their work and customer service is top notch. Services: A/C system maintenance, Repair HVAC

This company was sent out by AHS warranty company. They replaced our coils and the same day there was water in the drip pan from the new coils. They sent a technician out again who couldnt figure out why and left it that way. He said he was going to cap the pvc drain. Totally illegal and not up to code! This could cause the water to back flow and possibly flood our house. They also told the warranty company they were replacing the plenum and didnt replace it. Stay away from this company! They are crooks!

Luis, the specialist from RC Harris AC & Heating, came on time, was extremely courteous, very knowledgeable and quickly determined the problem and solved it. As part of the resolution he went above and beyond AC repair by also unclogging the drain pipe. Really heartening to see such high level of customer service. Today's warranty repair is the greatest illustration of how much I will not do business with R. Harris again. We originally had R Harris install a completely new A/C system in June 2018 as American Home Shield sent them out. Their installation on the compressor was so terrible it shorted and blew itself over. We had another company verify the issue but American Home Shield demanded R. Harris come fix it as they were the responsible party.Today my capacitor went out and because we had a few months left in our warranty, I call R. Harris back because they should have records of the install date to verify the warranty and it would be easier. Talk about a mistake. The only positive, they got out quickly and replaced the part the same day to get me up and running again. That is where the positive ends. Prior to the service call, they informed me the cost is $89.95 for the tech to come out but that would apply to any work completed.The technician replaced the capacitor and then told me it would be $89.95 for the service fee and $65.00 for his labor. I told him that is not what Robert said and that if I wanted to be picky, they owed me $24.95 out of the service fee. Robert was called and this guy speaks to his customers like trash and basically said that only applies if they do expensive work. I told him it is either his policy or not and that if the overall cost impacts that policy he should tell customers upfront. He proceeded to tell me how lucky I was they were doing the work because I didn't buy the unit and they didn't install it. He said American Home Shield purchased the unit and installed it, despite his company being the company AHS used for the installation. Last time I checked, if I pay for a home warranty and have a claim for an AC, my warranty cost and service cost, is paying for the unit, and regardless of how R. Harris was contracted if his employees show up and install the equipment then that is who installed it.Trying to pay the bill only after it is presented am I told they charge a 4% fee for credit card payments which is ridiculously inflated for a CC fee. Robert Harris is a crook and does not care about or have respect for customers at all. He clearly operates on the fact that in Houston, TX if he gets a call he will get the work because people will do almost anything for A/C. Avoid this company at all costs.
